"Nice back-beat throughout really, but especially during the piano intro. Good vocals, combined with good harmony/backing vocals. I like the guitars, too. Overall a very well-produced track. I guess the only thing I can find to tell you to improve is that I'm at 2:15 or so and I would have really liked to see the song take off to a different level by now. I like the bridge at 2:35 or so, so that's a good change up. Overall it's great - I'm reaching for pointers here. Keep it up!
Let's examine the following sentence.
"I'm at 2:15 or so and I would have really liked to see the song take off to a different level by now. "
I'm the first person to advocate correct pacing of a song so a listener doesn't get bored. The guy has a good point. But this is the kind of song that has information to impart storywise, it's not supposed to be a snappy pop song where you suck everyone in in any way you can as fast as you can. In that case I certainly would not want to languish. But there are still people out there that like to hear stuff they can give time to and get their teeth into that hopefully encourages repeated listenings. A song like 'OOTD' is probably more for them.
And it has to be said, how on earth can you expect to be impartial about someone else's material when you (the above reviewer) have the following to say about yourself?
"Our influences are extremely varied, which helped us to craft a unique style & sound. Emotional vocals, modern guitar tones, capitivating rhythms, and intriguing harmonies are combined to yield a sound that is refreshingly new."
(Non-plussed). Friends, if I ever start to go down that road, shoot me please!
